Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Can a home security system save me money?
Yes. Not only will a home security system add value to your property, but it may also save you 10% to 20% on your homeowner's insurance policy.
I am a renter. Can I get a monitored alarm system?
Of course you can. We can install a highly reliable wireless alarm system that can protect your family and your property. When you are ready to move you can take it with you. It is that easy!
No phone line…No problem We can monitor your home security system with our optional GSM Cellular Communicator if you choose not to install a phone line. You can also install a GSM Cellular Communicator for added protection in the event of telephone service interruption or your telephone line is deliberately cut.
What is a GSM Cellular Communicator? A GSM Cellular Communicator is a device that sends alarm signals to our central station via the cell network. This can be a back up system to the regular phone line or the primary method of sending signals. The GSM communicator is more secure as it will not be compromised by cutting any power, phone or cable feeds entering the premises.
Do alarm systems work with VoIP home phone service such as Comcast or Vonage? There are mixed results with this in the industry. We have had success making our systems compatible with VoIP phone service, however, we will not guarantee that this form of alarm communication will work all the time. Don't take a chance relying on VoIP phone service with your home alarm system. Rest easy by choosing to install a GSM Cellular Communicator as a back-up to your VoIP phone service for times that VoIP does fail.
Will the security system work if there is a loss of power? Yes. Our Security Systems are equipped with a battery back-up that will run the alarm system for several hours.
Do I ever need to test my alarm system? We urge all of our subscribers to test their system monthly!
